The misconception
I pick the treatment, and the visit gets it for me.
What the facts say
Picking a medicine online does not tell a health professional what is wrong. The national group for state medical boards calls for care that fits your needs in guidance checked September 26, 2026.
See the source notesThe visit needs to find out what is wrong
A clinician is the doctor or other health professional who reviews your symptoms and discusses care.
Telehealth is care from a distance: you and the clinician may talk by video or exchange information online.
The Federation of State Medical Boards connects boards that oversee doctors.
Its guidance, checked September 26, 2026, rejects prescribing based only on a patient picking from a treatment menu.
Its guidance also says patients need a way to bring up their own follow-up questions.
These are the national group’s recommendations. Your state makes the rules that apply to your visit; its rules may differ from these recommendations.
An online form can help the clinician learn what is wrong. The group’s guidance says a set list of questions cannot stand alone; the clinician must have room to ask further questions.
Check who will see you
As of September 26, 2026, the board guidance calls for a doctor to be licensed or otherwise permitted where the patient is during the visit.
Ask what licence or other state permission allows the doctor to see you, especially if you will be travelling.
Use the medical-board directory below to reach your state’s record.
Check whether the doctor’s licence is current. Look for published warnings, restrictions or other penalties from the board, and any charges still being reviewed.
A public record with no listed concerns does not tell you how good the care is.
Bring the goal, then ask about the plan
- What might explain the problem I am trying to solve?
- What options have evidence for that problem?
- Will an examination or test change the plan?
- Who answers questions after this visit?
- What will this visit cost if no treatment is agreed?
Board guidance says a clinician must arrange a needed test or refer you for it.
If this substance is proposed, pin down the name
DAC is an added chemical part that attaches to a protein in blood. It helps the form with DAC stay in the body for days.
The FDA describes the forms with and without DAC as different active ingredients that cannot replace each other.
Its review found no human study of the form without DAC.
Ask for the exact form, studies that tested your goal and the rule that permits its use.
A telehealth visit and an in-person visit are both places to ask these questions.
Having either kind of visit does not make CJC-1295 approved or allowed as a pharmacy ingredient.
